Last week I tried to make my first sound design demo using Nuendo3 teamed up with Reason4. It was a makeover of all sound in NBA Live 10 trailer. The original video was downloaded in WMV format which I thought it should compatible with my Nuendo on Windows. After imported WMV into Nuendo, it could be played but came many problems.

This trailer shows up in Apple Trailer. I’ve never known it before. I download and watch this trailer because its plot is about virtual world. This must be a visual fx showcase. At the moment I see the word “VFX concept text”, the only question came up to my head is …. how should this trailer sound?

I’m able to upgrade from Pro Tools LE 7.4.2 to 8.0 with no cost because I bought MBox 2 Mini after October 3rd, 2008. I rarely use Pro Tools so far but I plan to use it more on my mac to get started on sound design. So I decide to download Pro Tools 8.0 LE from Digidesign yesterday.

This film is coming on August 14. I’ve just watch the trailer today. The story itself didn’t interest me that much, but the visual effect did. Because it’s about alien, there’s plenty of rooms to show off visual effect. The more room visual FX has, the more room sound FX has as well.
